  • 4 cups cooked elbow macaroni (from about 2 cups dried)
  • 3 Tbsp. unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 cup nonfat bitter cream
  • 1 1⁄2 cups nonfat milk
  • 2 cups shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, evenly crushed
  • 1⁄4 cup corn flake crumbs or ¼ cup dried breadcrumbs
  • 1⁄2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1⁄2 tsp. salt
  1. Coat a 2-quart casserole with nonstick spray. Preheat the oven to 350 levels F.
  2. In a medium saucepan, soften butter then stir within the mustard, flour, salt and paprika.
  3. Slowly pour within the milk, whisking repeatedly till there are not any lumps within the flour. Proceed stirring with a whisk, elevate the warmth, and cook dinner till the milk thickens and begin to bubble. Take away from the stovetop and stir within the egg, bitter cream and cheese.
  4. In a bowl, toss the cheese combination and the macaroni collectively after which pour it into the casserole. Prime with the cornflake crumbs.
