We keep and its ours

No snow but this fall
however the gardens are simply grime now,
nothing left to eat besides
invisible parsnips lurking beneath.

The snowbirds are fleeing South
to limitless summer time, Florida,
Arizona, Mexico, the Caribbean.
A few of us really like winter.

It’s quiet and affords its personal magnificence,
chiaroscuro or blazing white.
The actual birds flock to feeders,
competing with squirrels.

In summer time, flowers give shade;
in winter, birds. Flashes of pink
on woodpecker heads, bellies.
Hens have chosen a gobbler

for winter safety. Dwelling
dinosaurs strut up our drive.
The crows go to usually now.
The coywolves hunt at night time.

When summer time folks go away,
deer come out of hiding. Stag
on the street final morning, stately.
Hawks hunt overhead, mates’

razor cries reducing between them.
There are way more different animals
round than folks. We hear
them and for us, it’s peaceable.
